Ways We Work With Nonprofits
At The Summit Foundation, we are dedicated to the fabric of our community: the families and individuals that live, work, and make Summit County a great place to live.
As the largest philanthropic organization in the county, we are proud to collaborate with our local community partners to make an impact. At The Summit Foundation, we support our nonprofits by:
- Making strategic grants
- Offering workshops and one-on-one assistance through our NRG program
- Connecting donors to the needs in our community
How to Apply for a Grant
We are proud to invest in our community partners by providing grants to local nonprofit organizations in Summit County and our neighboring communities of Lake, Park and West Grand Counties. Nonprofits may apply for a grant from The Summit Foundation once per year, and applications are accepted through our online grant application. You can find our grant guidelines and the application here.
The Global Giving Fund
The Global Giving Fund was started in 2015 by former Foundation Trustee and community philanthropist Rob Millisor. The Fund allows support for groups of Summit County volunteers who are involved in international humanitarian efforts. We know that these experiences can be life-changing and ultimately have an impact on our local community by encouraging volunteerism and further developing professional skills.
We encourage Summit County nonprofit organizations who bring local volunteers on an international project to consider applying to the Global Giving Fund for support. Applications are accepted throughout the year, but must be submitted a minimum of two weeks prior to the start of the project. Reach out to Megan to get your application started.
