As the largest scholarship provider in Summit County, the Summit Foundation demonstrates community leadership by providing a user-friendly online application platform. This platform facilitates applications for Foundation-managed scholarships and allows students to apply for all local community scholarships.
Jeanne Bistranin, Executive Director, emphasized the Foundation's commitment to supporting Summit County's diverse student population. Approximately 30-40% of the scholarship recipients are first-generation college students, demonstrating the Foundation's dedication to diversity and inclusivity. She stated, "We strive to create opportunities and empower the bright minds of our community for a promising future. This wouldn't be possible without support from our generous donors who firmly believe in investing in the next generation."
Recognizing diverse educational paths, the Foundation also includes financial support for Career and Technical Education (CTE). Fran Blumenfeld, Scholarship Program Manager, highlighted the significance of CTE scholarships in opening doors for students passionate about practical, hands-on careers. This benefits individual students and contributes to building a skilled local community, enhancing the resilience and vitality of our local economy.
The Summit Foundation is a community leader in impactful scholarship programs.
