A Summit County tradition for 36 years, the Great Rubber Duck Races plunge into the Blue River in Breckenridge on Saturday September 2nd. With the top prize of $2,000, there are a gaggle of prizes up for grabs. The Summit Foundation’s largest annual fundraiser, this event serves to provide grants to local nonprofit organizations and students through post-secondary education scholarships.
The Kids Duck Dash presented by FirstBank, is open to kids 12 and younger; entry is $5 per duck, awarding prizes like loveys, sweet treats and gift cards to the local toy store, this race is sure to bring smiles to every boy and girl. Race starts at 1 pm on Saturday, but racers do not have to be present to win.
Businesses duke it out for an array of awesome prizes for their team in the Business Battle Duck Race presented by Vail Health. The top prizes include a Via Ferrata trip for the staff courtesy of A- Basin, plus a variety of prizes from local business perfect for team building. The deadline for the Vail Health Business Battle is August 30.
And last but not least, the Great Rubber Duck Race presented by Breckenridge Grand Vacations will award the fastest duckie the grand prize of $2,000! Additional great prizes include ski passes, restaurant gift certificates, spa certificates, and more! A contribution of $5 enters a duck in this race; or for more bang for your buck, purchase a golden flock (26 ducks) for $100; a bakers dozen (13 ducks) for $50, or a six quack (6 ducks) for $25.
